Cabgan & Turtle Islands

At first, i was a bit hesitant as to my ability to create and more to maintain a travel blog since i do not have the resources, money-wise as most of my continuously followed bloggers has. But after much thought and consideration I decided to give it a go and just have fun in the process. For my very first entry, i would like to introduce both Cabgan Island & the Turtle Island, two of the pride and jewels of my hometown Barobo, a little known Town in the province of Surigao Del Sur. I felt like nothing could be more fitting that featuring this beautiful, unexplored islands as a ticket as i sail to the wonderful world of travel blogging and some sort of a tribute, as well.

The view of the 2 Islands from afar as if one island is chasing the other as we gear up to aboard the little pump boats to take us there. The usual jump-off point is in Talisay, a little fishing village w/c literally faces the island.

You will see lots of this  floating 'sea-house'on your way to the island.

We arrived at exactly 10:00 am and good thing that the weather also cooperated or else finding a place to put our foods will be a hassle since there is practically no cottage to dwell on. If you are a survivor-castaway-like person then the place fits you just fine. Talisay trees and all forms of vegetation sprouting along the shoreline which provides shade from the heat of the sun and also a place to camp.

The other side of the island has a rugged quality to it and has some picturesque view of the nearby Turtle island, named apparently after its shape w/c resembles a turtle You can act as a modern-day Robinson Crusoe because of the absence of any modernity in this side of the island. Behind the Turtle Island is the mighty and intimidating vastness of the Pacific Ocean, you can feel the ocean's arrogance by the sound of the roaring winds and huge tides that are quite scary at times.

Nearby, there is another attraction that partially gets submerged when the tides are high. This is Barobo's own version of the famous snake island in Camiguin. This is a sandbar that stretches up to the nearest islet of Cabiao.
